What is Renegerative Almond?

Regenerative Almond is the name of the yield produced from the Almond trees on Finca Verde of which 90% is located in the Secano which is unirrigated land.

What’s regenerative about it?

We use the term regenerative because the cultivation practices for this yield aim to enrich the soil.

• The shedding leaves from the almonds is left under the tree to rot down into the soil
  • Helps to build up soil biome, ie life in the soil, bacteria, fungi, insects etc.
  • Helps to build up organic matter in the soil
• We use the no-till technique so as to leave the soil ecosystem as undisturbed as possible:
  • Helps to build up soil biome
  • Reduces damage to the tree roots
• We use the chop and drop method for keeping weeds under control
